The scoreboard

Turn the phone. Everybody sees the score.

Two numbers you can read from ten metres away. Landscape shows, portrait operates.

The same match in portrait: two rows with team name and points, the sets as a table below, and two scoring buttons.

  • Each team picks its colour.

    And keeps it, even after changing ends.

  • The penguin shows who serves.

    In landscape it stands in that player's corner, in portrait a dot sits beside the name.

  • Undo is exact.

    Across game, set and tie-break boundaries.

  • Golden Point – one point decides

Set won

Confetti after every set.

In the winner's colour, across the whole screen – and it stays until somebody taps.

Pingu Button and Apple Watch

Count without walking to the phone.

A Pingu Button on your wristband or clipped to your waistband, three buttons on your wrist. Both keep counting while the iPhone hangs locked on the wall.

Americano timer

Two hours that run themselves.

Set the start time – the app works out the rest: seven games, the breaks between them and eight alarms.

  • The running timer: a large ring with the remaining time and the current phase below it.
  • The schedule: seven rounds with their times from 21:42 to 23:25, with the test alarm below.
  • The QR code that brings in a second phone, with the 29-character invitation code below it.

  • Real alarms.

    They cut through the silent switch and Focus.

  • The clock is the anchor.

    Not the moment somebody hits start.

Americano tournament

Eight people, seven rounds, no fixed partner.

Everyone plays exactly once with and exactly twice against everyone else. With eight people it cannot be done better.

  • Scorekeeping, the fixed timer and tournaments work with no network at all.
